my girlfriend got a speeding ticket...?

..for going 70 mph in a 30 zone
and now she has a court date
she's utterly devastated
and freaked that she might get time in juvie (shes 17)
the speeding ticket is already paid off
but what are the legal ramifications of this?
and would the court date be routine followup or something else?
 
No. They don't want her in jail. If they did that no body will on the streets and the country would run out of money just feeding ALL the extra people in jail.

She might lose her license or just get suspension (plus fine).

there is alot of rumors and opinions about this kind of thing. i have heard that if you are doing twice the speed limit it is considered wreckless driving and your license could be suspended..especially if shes only 17.
