my hitachi dvd cam shows no picture when i turn it on?

when i turn on my hitachi dvdcam it dont show no picture or nuthin the acess button lights red n then goes off ive tryed restarting it n everything nuthin works please someone help me and it like brand new i have tryed everything in the world
 
Is the camera charged? sounds stupid but many people forget. there should be a button to reset the camera somewhere on the case (Not all cameras have this) press it and it will restore the factory defaults. if that does not help try removing all the batteries, some times there is a small cr20** cannot remember the full number, remove that as well leave the camera for a couple of hours. failing all the above if the camera is new then take it back and get themt o have a look at it.
