I have a beautiful 8yr old Thoroughbred but he is lazy.
He is great under saddle and does everything he is told, but at times he gets a bit dopey and drags his feet.
We have tried games, different trails, excitement on rides. He absolutely loves going for a ride but he just likes to walk at turtle speed and when I mean slow, real slow.
He is show quality and full of muscle. He will work when required but gets lazy when we go for a relaxing ride out.
Is there any tips or tricks I can do to help him stay focussed and pic his feet up when he walks instead of walking dopey?
I am worried we may have a situation in him tripping because of his pure lazyness.
BTW, we ride western, everything is low and relaxed.
