for assault & battery.? Hi, We are from Australia & in 2005 travelled to the USA. While in Florida my husband was aressted for assault & battery. He was originally charged with a misdimeanour which was later upgraded to a felony. We did not go to the court hearing instead we fled the state and later that year returned to Australia. We would love to return to California or Colorado but are afraid that he will be arrested at the airport. It is hard being in Australia & not knowing where to start to try & get the correct answers. Can any one help? Will this be hanging over his head forever?
Thanks

it might, he shouldve thought about that before he did the assault and battery, personally i wouldnt stay with someone that was doing that

the court would have issued a bench warrent for his arrest the moment he steps foot on us soil he will be taken into custody....and the charge will not go away he comminited a crime it just doesnt disapeer because you do...yes its going to be forever he ran away from jail its gunna be worse time time a judge isnt going to take that lightly and a lawyer will tear it apart. i would say if you ever want to travel to the usa again then contact a lawyer and try to make a deal to get him to hand himself in, its a slim chance but you never know. however the states is very picky....they dont let anyone in with crimminal records....so theres a high chance he would never be allowed in the states again. call a lawyer and see what can be done.

so you fled the country to avoid a felony charge. That is also a felony. Your husband likes to fight so I imagine you are also the drinky type. Yeah, don't come back. We don't want you anymore... Except in jail... But those are overcrowded. Find a new country to soil. Cheers.

there is a bench warrant out for his arrest. yes if his name gets run by law enforcement it will show up. he will be taken into custody, and transported to the county where he is being charged (its a long ride from CA, to Fl).

serves him right. if he can't get along with the natives just stay the hell out.
