get his last pay check? My husband worked for a company as an independent contractor. How are you Independent when they call all the shots and it's thier equipment. Not only that but by contract he was to be paid every Saturday. It has been 2 months and he never got his last check. I am being told it is a civil matter and we need a lawyer. Sorry but the laws in GA are messed up.Workers have little protection. The company paid for my husbands greyhound ticket and didn't tell him till he got there (Atlanta)from Texas he would not be a company driver.What can we do??
Also when they paid him they broke down nothing.Just paid a lump sum.Didn't list if he was being reimbused for tolls.He didn't know the amount they gave him for each load that was delivered.They paid him .29 cents a mile.This has been awful.
