My husband lives on MASSIVE amounts of sugar. He can go days without a piece of meat and rarely eats a vegetable. He will eat several donuts late at night, he eats numerous pieces of cake with loads of sugary icing at family gatherings. He ate entirely from the desert table at our family reunion and filled his plate about five times!! He orders pancakes and pie when we go out to eat. He eats sugar uncontrollably. He'll help himself to to other people's cookies or my brother's kids pop tarts and not care that they are for the kids. He's been on antidepressants, acne medication, he sleeps all the time, he's about 30 pounds over weight and always grouchy. He will not listen to me at all. The more I try to talk to him, the more he resists and insists that his health issues have no connection to his diet. What can I do?? He has to start taking better care of himself! How can I convince him that he's doing a tremendous amount of harm to himself? Or who could I get to talk to him that he might actually respect?
I can't control what he eats at work either. He won't take a lunch break, only eat candy bars and donuts throughout the whole day, then he stops off for more on his way home from work and keeps it a secret from me!

I am too! sugar is like crack for me and i can't get enough once i've eaten a little. Your body will stop craving sugar if you stop cold turkey for 5 days. It will be one hell of a week for your husband, but once he does that, his body will crave it less. stock up on whole grain carbs and fruit-don't buy junk food, or if you do, hide it!
