My iPhone 4G has it safe mode at the top of my screen where the time should be.?

I know it has to do with jail breaking it, but what can i do to make sure everything on my phone isn't deleted? Or will it not do that? spring board is no longer on my phone since i woke up this morning. someone please help!
 
turn your iphone off. then turn it back on normally.
if you jailbroke. its in safe mode because you modded your spring board to much. if you have winterboard. take out some modifcations you have made (i mean just uncheck them)

Nothing on your iphone was deleted.....

btw you should restart your iphone at least 3 times a week to make it last longer.
 
Click on where the clock would be and a menu should come up to reboot to normal. Delete the last 1 or 2 things you installed because I'm guessing that is what caused it. I used to have an iPod 2G 8GB until last month it fried finally. So that kind of means I forget some things about it.
 
Firstly, check cydia to see if you have any important updates. If you noticed this problem after you downloaded something from cydia, delete it. then just turn off the iphone and turn it back on.
