My mom is trying to make me old fashioned?

Okay so recently me and my mom were talking and I asked her "Why do you always do what Dad says. Don't you have a mind of your own?" and she replied "Women need to obey and submit to their husbands because they are the head of the household, and we need to respect their wishes, and you WILL do the same when your married." I replied "I ain't going to obey him? He's not my boss and I'm not about to let him think he's in a higher position then me. Why do I need to let him make all the decisions, that's stupid." and she said "your a women and you ARE going to obey and submit to your husband!" I personally think this is bullshit. Why do I need to 'submit' and 'obey' him. why can't he obey me and such, cause i'm not about to let him boss me around and think he's in a higher position over me just because he's a man. I'm sorry but that's just not about happen. Were either equals or i'm the head of the household. I don't think women need to 'obey' husbands. Who put them in that all mighty position. Also I don't believe in god nor does my family so don't say 'god says so'
