...merciful? My sister lost her sight at age 23 from an infection in the hospital at the same time she had flesh eating infection and survuved a horrible experience. She was also type I diabetic. Ten years later, after living a pretty horrible existence, blind and insulin dependant she showed kindey damage and started using her insulin wrongly trying to end her life. She fell down the stairs and broke her wrist in 5 places. My mom took care of her after she got out of the hospital and she died of an insulin overdose 2 days later. My mom was there so she must have either allowed it or helped with it.

The problem I have with it is that my mom knew my sister was miserable but never told us and noone had a chance to help improve her life. Also, my parents never gave my sister a dime. She was on low-income for 10 years and barely had food in the house. She had stairs and was always falling but she had to have a roommate. I hate my parents for this now but I was to blame to for not taking better care of her but my mom always made it look like her diabetes was between them so we didnt know how to deal with it. After she went blind in the hospital, my mom blamed her and said it was all because she partied and kept organizing parties. I never understood the situation at all. Looking back, I think it was horrible that we were like this as a family. But worse than this, my moms whole side of the family was riddled with sickness and death and younger people dying and they were negligent of their kids. She made it appear she cared but when you look at it closer, she did nothing. Her worst crime of all though is that she used the whole thing to blame me and call me selfish but when you look at it. She and my dad too, did nothing either. Shouldnt my mom have told us how my sister really felt so we could have a chance to save her? Or did the years of poverty and bad diet already damage her kidneys too. I cant even talk to my parents anymore.
