My parent is threatening to take parts out of my car?

I'm 21, and moving back with my b/f. My dad is upset and is threatening to take parts out of my car, that is registered in MY name so I can't leave. He says I owe him money for when he moved me up to his house this last time. Yet he never wrote it down saying that I would have to pay him back. It was never said to me. So therefor I don't think I owe him anything. He has no right to take parts out of my car does he? Isn't that illegal? It's MY car. I payed for it! I am 21! Couldnt I call the police if he did something like that? I need my car so I can move and transport my son. If he does something like that what can I do?
