...hard to walk. What could it be? After picking up the little guy from school today, he complained of his upper back hurting (between shoulder blades) and says he felt tired and is hard for him to walk. I asked him if something happened at school, if he got hurt and he said no. I also checked for any marks or bruising on his back and there were none. Once we got home, I continued to observe him and he seems ok, his energy's up and was playful. I asked him again if his back was still hurting when I put him down to bed tonight and he said yes. Not sure what this is all about...definitely calling his doctor first thing in the morning. Just checked on him a few minutes ago and he's sleeping comfortably and peacefully.

Kids do that sometimes for attention. He may have seen another kid with an injury at school and felt jealous of the sympathy they were getting. Nevertheless, take him to the doctor to make sure. Otherwise I am of no help :P
Don't doubt it is an actual affliction though, I may be wrong.

I'll bet money while playing around climbing, jumping, falling, etc that those kids do, he just strained a muscle. Give the little guy an appropriate dosage of Motrin (Ibuprofin) and give it a couple days to work its way out. Only go to a Dr. if he's still complaining in a week.

There could just be tension in his back. Little kids have some stress too. try rubbing his back some before you go to the doctor to see if that helps.

It might be growth spruts too.

Its a good thing you taking him to the Doc. Only he will know for sure.
