i own a 2001 Dogde Dakota, 4.7L 4X4. there is a loud clicking noise coming from the front end. it sound like the driver side tire. this clicking is faster when the truck moves faster and slower when the trunk moves slower. It doesn't matter how high the rpm's are, which means its not the engine. it only happens when the truck is moving, leading me to believe it's something with the wheel or suspention. it makes the clicking noise when going straight and turning. Also, it comes and goes, but everytime it comes back, it gets louder. PLEASE, what could this be???

Your CV joint is wearing out.Its easier to replace the whole axle. You get a large core fee back on the old one,so it generally costs around 80 to 100 bucks. If you have it done 250 to 275.

It could be your brake caliper sticking but my better guess is that it is the CVC joint off the front transfer case. I have a 99 Dakota 4x4 and had one CVC replaced under warranty. It made the same noise you describe with a added bit of a squeek included. Good luck to you.

Probably a rock or a nail stuck in your tire tread. If that's not it, check your brakes, if the pad is gone sometimes it'll make a clicking sound.

I'm pretty sure that Dodge had a recall on the ball joints so that could be it. It could also be something with the brakes or the cv joint on the axle.
