My Virgin Mobile X TC keeps beeping when its on the charger?

A few months ago, the piece that protects the charger fell off
Ever since then if I so much as touch my phone while it is on the charger, it makes a loud beeping noise
If I pick it up, it makes a loud beeping noise
If I am texting it will randomely beep, and it does the same thing when I set it back down
Unfortunetly, I cannot just turn the sound off
any suggestions?
