My Xbox game disc is scratched, what should i do?

Okay, so I was playing Halo 3 after school, and when I put the game in and pressed "resume game", it made a LOUD sound. I got really nervous and ejected the game. When I turned the disc over, there was a white ring going around the center hole of the disc. I thought it was just there before and so I put the game back in. It was working fine, but when I beat the level I was on, the Xbox couldn't read the disc anymore. I cleaned it with a cloth and everything, but it still wont work! I didnt put any of my other games in because I was afraid. What should i do? PLEASE ANSWER QUICKLY!!!
 
There's two ways to set a xbox up isn't there? Try turning the system the other way and see what happens
