Need help with minecraft and torrent?

This of course is all hypothetical... but lets say I have a problem with saving minecraft using torrent... it doesn't save the level I have just been on. It will say save successful but when I go to open it again it won't be there. What should I do, hypothetically speaking, to be able to save my current progress?
