Need help with my sleep schedule to Peak for MMA fight?

I am a UPS worker and I get up at 4:00a.m. and go to bed around 8:00p.m. I am considering fighting in MMA but I know that most fights take place around 8:00p.m. or later. My boss has agreed to let me switch shifts for the next 6 months, however I do not know what shift to request. Therefore I have a few questions....

What time should I be waking up to peak around 8:00p.m.? Generally, how many hours after you wake up are you at your athletic peak?

How many days/weeks before my fight should I work on changing my sleep schedule? How long does it take for your body to get used to it and change its peak time?

Second shift is the best choice in terms of achieving your athletic peak. You have already stated that first shift isn't going to work which is obvious. Third shift is a problem too. People who work third shift typically have problems sleeping because they do not sleep during normal sleeping hours. The only real choice is second shift. Second shift will allow you to still sleep at night, and you will probably start going to bed late (around midnight or 1 am) which will get you in a good habit for the fight.

Third shift is only nice because you can get more training partners because you can train during the morning or night, but it can be killer if you don't focus on your sleep.
