Nero 8 transcoding DVD file type?

I burn a lot of movies with Nero Vision and I would really like to be able to pre-transcode the files before burning.

Is this possible? Id like to avoid the long wait of the transcoding process and just burn. Is there a certain file type it transcodes it too?
