New HTC Amaze won't connect to T-Mobile's network?

Hi, I have a new HTC Amaze 4G that was purchased on eBay from a private seller who had bought the item new from T-Mobile. The phone came sealed in the box and is definitely from T-Mobile. When I put my SIM in and turn it on it initailly says I have service but immediately blacks out to no service. Techs at T Mobile do not know whats wrong with it. Please help! Thanks
