Please bear with me. I will start with video cards. Inside my pre-built, store bought HP desktop I have a Geforce 9100. Where do they come up with that number? How much memory is in this thing? Is the way they number these things brand-specific, or is it similar across all the brands? Also, what does it mean when there is a "GT" or "GTX". I'm assuming there is extra power or memeory...

My CPU is an AMD Phenom 9750. What does this number mean? Is it just the name of the proccessor? The Belarc Advisor says I have:

512 KB Primary memory cache
2048 KB Secondary memory cache
2048 KB Tertiary memory cache

What do these numbers mean?

The Phenom 9750 is a Quad core cpu. Does this mean I take the 2.4 gigahertz and multiply it by 4 and that's how much proccessing power I have?

A lot of questions, I know but I want to get to the bottom of this fast. Thanks for the answers.

The Geforce 9100 is an IGP. It's an integrated video adapter, it's not an actual card, it's a chip on the motherboard. It's not really suitable for gaming.

In Nvidia nomenclature "SE" denotes the bottom level submodel. "GS" is the basic model "GT" is the midlevel submodel, and GTX denotes the top level submodel. The have been switching it up lately though. For example you could get a GTX 460 SE video card, it was a stripped down model of the standard GTX 460.

"The Phenom 9750 is a Quad core cpu. Does this mean I take the 2.4 gigahertz and multiply it by 4 and that's how much pprocessing power I have? "

No it doesn't add up like that. It means you have 4 cores each operating a 2.4 Ghz. Each core can handle a single thread at 2.4Ghz, All 4 cores don't process the same thread.

your graphic card probably has 512MB DDR2 Vram
gt and gtx is for newer nvidia cards and your card is before them

quad core means that your cpu has 4 core inside that each of them works in 2.4GHz and process the data
