NFSU2 CDcracked. How to make the game run in a window instead of full screen?

Basically I wanna play NFSU2 on my PC but also be able to see when peeps talk to me on msn. How can I make the program open up in a window instead of small screen? ( game is a crack, dunno if it makes a difference, I use Daemon Tools)

I have tried
- going to the shortcut and adding " -w" and " -window" to then end of the 'TARGET'
- pressing Alt+Enter during the game

HELP PLEASE!!
