Nicotine patch side effects?

If you were to occasionally use a nicotine patch, would it have any side affects? I don't smoke or anything, just wondered
I'd appreciate an answer, not anyone wondering why I asked. If you want an explanation, then fine; they help me think. I just want to know that I'm not gonna harm my body by using them occasionally, when I feel I need to.

Why would you want to use one occasionally??? Thats plain silly.

They gave me the most horrendous nightmares.

Nicotine patches give your body small amounts of nicotine, so if you used enough I suppose you could get addicted.
