Nintendo DSi multiplayer games how do u connect 2 DSI's?

Help I'm a Grandma that just bought 2 Grandkids 2 DSi's and 2 games that say multiplayer 1-2 players Lego Star Wars and Spongbob Truth or square. And both kids are going crazy to play the games togehter. How do you get them to play the same game.
 
I have very little experience with either. look on the box's back near the spine for ds symbols. if both ds symbols have black screens, each ds will need one of the games. if one of the two symbols is white-screened, the use the "ds download play" function on the ds without the game to play together using one game. also, there's an instruction booklet inside the game's box. it should explain everything somewhere in there.

all games are required to have those symbols if they are multiplayer. when buying for your grandkids, multiplayer might be very important when choosing, so always check.

if they like playing together, try Mario Kart DS. it has one-game play, so you can buy one copy and let them share.
