I was driving and went to switch on the highbeams and they turned on for a split second and then both went out. So then I was stuck with just the lowbeams. A week later I went to turn on the lowbeams and they went out the same way. I had recently replaced both he bulbs. I checked the headlight L and R next to the battery and they are ok. I check the bulbs and they seem to be ok. There is a switch on the steering column that controls the lights. When I switch the lights on the lights for the gages turns on but the headlights do not. When I switch on the high beams the blue highbeam indicator light lights up on the dash. The turn signals all work. So now I have no idea why the car lights don't work. Is the wiring bad somewhere? Why would it go out all of the sudden. The only other problem I found was the Alt S fuse in the fuse box next to the battery was highly corroded so I replaced it. The headlight fuses are in the same fuse box. What do you think it is?

Pop the hood, lift up the cover for the fuse box and slide an american car underneath, problem solved.

I would have to say go to a Nissan dealership and maybe it is a recall that you missed or something.

It could be that the combination switch (stalk) needs replacing.

Definately something to check
