nissan xtera as my first car? having some doubts. . input please?

i'm turning 16 in a couple months
and my grandfather and my mom keep on nagging me to just take my grandfathers nissan xtera
but it bothers me with it being an SUV and everything
(plus me being 5' doesnt help)

what are some cars you would recommend?

(preferably small?)

i know that we have enough money to buy another car aside for me
but i have to be persuasive enough and know exactly what i want before i ask.
 
get a versa

nissan is a really really good company.. and if they are putting out a new economy model, you can bet your ass it is made well. It has to earn a reputation.
 
its your first car bro i almost gaurentee you will total it or crash it pretty bad it happens to everyone i totalled my 1995 pointiac firebird after 3 days it was my first car i got. buy something decent that looks nice doesnt cost alot of moeny to maintain, i would look at 1988-1996 jeep cherokee or grand cherokee great lookin jeep good on gas easy to maintain and add on stuff. hope this helps
