No sound when I burned VOB files to DVD?

Hi, when i burned VOB files to a DVD RW it works fine on a laptop however there is no sound on a standalone DVD player. The way i burned the files on the DVD was simply adding them from my documents and I dragged the folder across the blank DVD. Is there something am doing wrong or is there a program i should be using to do this?
