i live in Vancouver and my N900 (OVI map) almost never find a gps signal. i have to wait a long long time to get my position (the red dot) but its (not always) miles away from my actual location. i think the device is broken. then i accidentally discover that the gps works great in Chilliwack (a town about 100km east of Vancouver) without network assistance. it takes about 10-15 second to lockin and its pretty accurate. i drive back to Vancouver and it still works in Vancouver (very accurate). then i close OVI maps and restart, it does work again.
why does it never work in vancouver and how do you fix it? i dont want to go to Chilliwack and get my position..
ps: please dont say i got my position in Chilliwack because i was lucky. it really worked.
pps: i have SIM card inserted and i have an open-sky when i try it.
