not getting good signal or all my freeview channels?

I just baught a new tv, has freeview built in.
I am not receiving good signal and not receiving all the channels e.g bbc 1, 2 3 or itv.
i thaught it was becaus i didnt have a good aerial, so i got a man to put one up on the roof of my house, an its still not working.
And i doo re-scan my channels to see if it picks up, an it doesnt

What do i do?
 
ignore the idiot above, there is no such thing as a digital aeriel lol,
an aeriel is a aerial and it is the box itself that converts the signal to digital.
try getting a signal booster to see if that helps
