2. He is NOT looking to socialize health care - he is looking to give an option to those that have no option. We have a similar program in Wisconsin - it is called Badger Care. And if you will notice, there are plenty of insurance companies in this state that operate, as well as profit and flourish. And no employers refuse to offer insurance to their employees because of Badger Care being around. And no insurance companies are complaining because they can't make any money or survive against Badger Care. . .
3. This nation has NEVER been a straight capitalist society. If it were, we would look more like China than we do. That is because in capitalism, there are the "managers", or owners and those running the businesses, and there are the laborers. Laborers are paid enough to have a place to live, eat, get to and from work, and reproduce. That is it. No money for those working in manufacturing plants to be able to have 2 cars, a boat, a couple of snowmobiles, a home computer. . . We would have the very rich (about 10%) and then the poor (the other 90%).
But I don't want to sit here and tell you everything that you obvioulsy already know, and that you have your economics degree here to pass judgment on someone's economic theory. I'm sure you know all of this and carefully considered it before your post.

I dont like socialism. But it is better than the alternative .We would have had 50% unemployment ,if they (bush an Obama) had let the banks ,gm and chrysler fail
