OK "Godfather" fans, want to answer a trivia question?

In "Godfather II" when the young Vito Corleone (played by Robert DeNiro) is tracking the godfather of his neighborhood, Fanucci, over the rooftops during the religious festival, Fanucci stops for a moment in the crowd to watch the Virgin Mary float pass. Standing in the crowd a few feet from him is somebody who looks a lot like Al Pacino--it's hard to tell, his face is obscured by his hat brim. Is it Pacino in a sneak cameo? Is this the first scene they ever appeared in together? Or am I imagining things?
