This year I decided to join wrestling. It fun and it was the 1st sport that I've taken and enjoyed. After the final tournament my parents were still complaining that I ever joined wrestling saying it's a "dumb sport and doesn't require any brains", "it's low class and only idiots would do it" and it's "a guy sport and girl should be nice and gentle instead of acting like boys". They refuse to let me take it again in High School. I got extremely annoyed over the entire thing but didn't say anything due to the fact my violent parents would actually hit me. But who agrees that this is sort of sexist? I know its mostly guys wrestling but girls do it too(me and 2 of my teammates are the only female wrestlers in middle school in our district). I've been told by some parents and some guys from the other schools that I actually wrestle very well for my first year. Shouldn't my parents be the ones telling me these kinds of things?
