On samsung captivate if wifi is connected does it use data if you have limited

data a month? I got a new phone today (the samsung captivate) and I usually use three and a half gigs a month but now that AT&T won't give unltd Internet I can only use two. This is sort of hard for me. Anyway I have wifi in my house and I want to know if you are connected to wifi will it use the data up that you can use a month?
 
Check with AT&T, but my Verizon Android doesn't charge data downloaded via WiFi against my data allowance.
