on vacation got home jury summons in mail and past am i in trouble?

what would happend if i came home from vaccation and was reading the mail and had a summons for jury duty and it past would i be held in contempt.

No. I've gotten several letters stating I was picked for jury duty and threw them away. I don't want to serve on a jury. One time they called me on the phone and told them I couldn't serve because my mom was ill and I had to take care of her, which was the truth. They told me no problem, maybe the next time.

I have my own reasons for not serving on a jury.

No that happened to my mom she forgot about her jurry summons all you do is call them say you forgot and they will schedule you a new day and time just don't forget the next one
