I am vacationing for about 10 days and had to find a local doggie hotel. I found one and the website says dogs that are not neutered will not be allowed to play with other dogs. Understandable but it made me said since my beagle isn't neutered. Until just now I haven't even considered getting him fixed.
I told my husband about it and asked him if we had any intentions of breeding him. He's a pure bred yellow and white with beautiful markings beagle. Very well mannered. We have papers on him too. But basically as good as he is I know he could be better with the hormones chasing females and wandering and the seldom marking of territory. I know this is still ultimately a decision between my husband and I but should we neuter our 8 mo dog? I know the health benefits but how do breeders keep such good dogs if they don't neuter/spay? Should we neuter him anyway? Question, questions, I know! Lol I just don't know what to do about the little guy. He would be more acceptable everywhere if neutered, plus healthier in the long run but I say as this dogs owner, I would love to have pups from him if we ever got a missy beagle in the house. Thoughts? I have never spayed/neutered my own dog, either got them that way or they were still intact and natural.
