Orion TV and Sony DVD player?

i have like an old Orion brand TV and my boyfriend just recently bought me a new Sony DVD player but im not sure how to hook it up and get it working. it's like the dvd player is missing a plug i need for my tv to connect it, but my tv's too old of a model and the dvd players too upgraded..
im not sure but any help would be appreciated..
