colleges, or the U.S. MMA Academy? The reason why I am asking this question is because I graduated from a maritime college and feel very inferior compared to people that went colleges like Northeastern, BU, Columbia, MIT-you get the point. Another reason why I am asking this question is because-while I was at my work and with someone in my training class-one of my co-workers said something to the effect, "well, people that go to the USMMA aren't incredibly smart." I was so offended by this, but obviously I just kept my mouth shut.
I beginning to think that there are a lot of people out there that think graduates of maritime colleges are stupid. What's the deal? I honestly think there are many people that don't respect these type of college grads. FYI-Former pres. candidate, John McCain went to the Naval Acad. as well as Jimmy Carter. In addition, Dwight D. Eisenhower went to West Point, as well as Colin Powell, all of whom are very venerable people. There are some folks in my family that think these schools don't provide well-rounded education. I COMPLETELY disagree with this argument. When you compare Northeasten Univ. and the US Merchant Marine Acad., I think both of these schools provide an excellent education. Guess which education you have to pay for, which one you don't (have to pay for)?
