pain in nipple like a needle being pressed into my nipple?

i have had terrible pain in my nipple it is as if a needle is being pushed into the nipple...its has been going on for more than a week im 62 years old and female...what could this be .....thank you.

Sounds uncomfortable, I think it's best you go and see your Dr to get it checked out.
