children to be christened...? I was wondering if anyone else is having or has had a similar problem?
I am a Catholic & my partners family are Muslims although my partner says he has "no religion" & his family do nothing to show they are Muslims except say they are once in a blue moon!
The problem is me & my partner discussed having kids & I mentioned a christening, he said our kids won't be getting christened & will not wear a cross! Now this really upsets me...
He say's his family won't like it but I am not willing to not have them Christened.. I think that when the time comes I will do it because I have beliefs & he has none, I am not prepared to please his family!
If it was his personal feelings without taking his family into account then, we would have something to discuss!
Sometimes I feel that the relationship will not work for these reasons, it is important to me to christen my kids.. I will teach them.. but if they choose not to want to know then that will be there choice!
Does anyone think that I am wrong? Or that it is unfair for me?
