Passing the Army fitness test?

I want to join the Canadian forces but i can't do a push-up to save my life (not even knee pushups) I don't understand why I can't... I'm not that great at chin ups eithier. I want to know is there a program in Canada that will get you into shape if you apply to the military? I really want to join but my gym routine obviously has not been working for me even with personal trainers.. So will they like ship a bunch of us off to a base and whip our butts? Or is that only in the movies..? lol

Do any exercise that flows to the cadence, "We must, we must, we must increase our bust" After a couple of weeks you'll be beating the guys off with a stick and having so much fun that you don't even realize that you can suddenly do pushups all day long! It's a miracle I tell ya.

Of course, you will not want to join the military then, but what the hell.

Real answer since no one gave it to you. You apparently do not have enough upper body strength to press your own weight off the ground so you will have to work up to that. Do so by 1) running and 2) Start bench pressing 6 sets of 10 with a 30 second break with half the amount of weight you can max two reps. In other words find out what your max bench press weight is and take 10 lbs off that. If you can get it up twice, use that as your baseline and start lifting with half that amount. Do that for a few days and start increasing it incrementally. You'll get there.
