Just wondering as I live in the UK and so take it very much for granted. Do you recon that it would improve your country or hinder it?
The NHS is a national health service.

It basically means that all of your health care is provided by the state. You have to pay nothing.

If you want an amazing example of it, watch sicko by Michael Moore "in the UK, they pay you to go to hospital" LOL

Americans love having the most expensive health care in the world, serving only a portion of the population. Only God knows why?

It would be a big improvement -- countries with socialized medicine spend half of what we do and do better on objective measures such as life expectancy. But I don't expect it to happen. The insurance industry is too powerful here.

What does NHS stand for.. Please be more specific and i'll edit my answer

NHS is a National Health Service ie a health service provided free at point of use. The cost is paid through general taxation.

It is likely an NHS would not be introduced in the USA, as it would be very difficult and expensive to introduce. It would benefit poorer people who have no health insurance, but Americans tend to oppose state handouts and prefer the choice they get from their own healthcare system.
