plan to move up from 250cc enduro to 600cc cbr sport bike?

ive been riding the lil 250 for about 2 yrs now on the street and trails around town and think its time for something bigger and new to add to the garage. is the 600 honda cbr a good bike for daily driving and weekend trips out of state? anyone with a race bike wish they had a less powerful machine or anyone with a more tame bike wish they had a beast of bike to blast around on?
 
unless you get a Hayabusa, sport bikes are not highway cruisers. you can go across country on one, but not as comfy as a standard or cruiser. almost any street bike will have enough power for ya, and "blasting around" will only get you dead. save the racing for the drag strip or race track.
