The last two nights after taking the same medication I have taken every night (Remeron, Atarax, Simvastin) I became falling down drunk (with injury both nights) and I can't for the life of me figure out why. The only difference is that I had several pieces of pumpkin bread late both evenings. Pumpkin Pie Spice is known to have nutmeg in it, so I was wondering (and grabbing at straws) if the nutmeg could have interacted with my medications. The effect wore off in only 2-3 hours after lying down. This could be serious problem with older adults, such as myself, around the holidays.
