Do you have the book that came with it or anywhere you can call for tech support that is what I do when I have a problem. I saw your question & I am having a problem with my sound when I want to hear something on youtube for example my sound is gone & it seems to happen auto matically. I have had this problem 3 times & can't remember how I got it back so if any sees this please let me know if you know what I can do...meanwhile, tech support for you might be an easy way for you to get help.

...suggestions/experiences? I have my set-top-box / digital box with a optical output into my 5.1 surround receiver and HDMI to the TV - which should allow me to watch programs normally through the TV and be able to switch to the optical output when I want 5.1 from the TV.

However, when I switch to the input to listen to 5.1 the volume will auto-mute. When I turn up or down the vol. you can hear it quickly transfer to the 5.1 speakers but then back to the TV speakers. The box says muting, and I cannot get it to stay on the optical output to the receiver.

The blu-ray connected to the receiver has no problem playing 5.1.
