Problem with Sony Ericsson K800i, advice please?

you turn it on, vibrates once, screen lights white and then it does nothing.
it is fully charged with a brand new battery.
if you try to turn it off it does the same thing as above.
any ideas on how to fix it would be greatfully recieved, many thanks in advance.
 
Hi Emily theres a chance that the software in the phone needs to be upgraded you can do this yourself if you have the disc that should have come with the phone & going to the sony ericsson website & upgrading the software yourself or take it to a phone repair shop/centre & asking them to do it for you it shouldnt cost you that much to have done ! ive had sony phones in the past that have had the same problem & by upgrading the software in the phone the phone itself was a lot more responsive after ... hope this helps
