Problems with Divx web player?

I've been trying to stream videos online, and for what I want to watch I can only find Divx versions. I've installed all of the players/web player etc but then it says that I need to install the plugin. So I do, leading to me installing the Divx stuff again. However I still can't use the Divx web player, it just takes me round in circles. Has anyone got any idea what I'm doing wrong here or if there's a way to fix it?
