I have been hearing a lot about the PS3 backwards compatibility.
1) When was the latest I could have bought a PS3 that was backwards compatible with previous playstation games.?
2)Wikipedia just said it had no PS2 compatibility. What about PSOne?
3) If mine has no backwards compatibility is there anything I can do to make it backwards compatible (I saw a PSOne emulator)?
4)Can I tell if mine can play games without putting in a PS2 or PSOne game?
I don't car if it has graphical issues as long as I can play it so anything would help. I know I had more but I can't think of them so I might add some later.

The PS3 80GB and PS3 60 GB had the backwards compatibility. Anything built today and about a year ago to today will not be backwards compatible. Each PS3 can play PS1 games because of a simple PS1 emulator installed on each PS3. There is currently nothing you can do to make it backwards compatible, it would have to be offered by Sony as an update or extra hardware.
