My PS3 is connected directly to an HDTV via an HDMI cable. Also connected by HDMI cable to the TV is a Sony surround sound DVD system and Sky HD. Games play fine and everything else works fine but the picture on Blue Ray movies has intermittent faint squares on the right hand side of the picture. Disc is fine as tested on another PS3.
