PSP 3000 skins. Are they good for the PSP?

I just bought a PSP skin from china that looks really cool for my psp 3000, but i thought it would be some type of hard cover (like how the DS uses). I guess they are some type of smooth plastic/stick-on type of cover. Are these good, or will it leave bad smudges or mess up the PSP?
