...satellite disk installed on my property? I have a satellite disk installed at rear of my property. It has been there for more than 10 years. My neighbour recently moved in and he said the satellite disk looked ugly. He asked me remove it. I refused. He then went over the boundary and planted a tree on my property so he would not see the disk. However, while he dug up the soil, he accidentally cut off the cable. I asked him to fix the cable but the reception became terrible. I told him not to plant anything on my property and removed the plant. He approached me and said that my satellite disk was illegal and he verbally abused me.

What can I do to avoid such a violent neighbour? What can I do to stop him from encroaching on my property? Does he have the right to cut off my cable?
 
Involve your local council or police and have them mediate for you or else this could get ugly real quick. At least if you try and mediate as opposed to fighting back, you will have that on your side if it ever ends up in court and it will look as though you did everything reasonable to resolve it. Don't enter into arguments, write down every incident, dates, times etc and have that to back you up too. And any further communication with him should be in carefully worded writing and you should keep copies of all correspondence. He is definitely way out of line.
 
It is Trespass, not only can he by criminally liable for his actions, you can sue him for any damage he did to your property and the dish.

The Police are unlikely to get involved, they don't care about things like this but you should contact them at the very least. If you can go see your local solicitor and ask him/her to write a letter to this neighbour on your behalf, advising them they are trespassing, and if they do not stop you will sue them.
