Okay first of all, i am 15 years old and i haven't had a phone for like 4 months since mine got stolen. I don't come from from a very rich family so please consider this. :D Tomorrow my mum is taking me to buy a phone, and i am thinking of getting the HTC desire HD. Now i know that this is quite an old phone but i really want a smartphone. The HTC desire HD has the Froyo 2.2 thingie, but the one people often use these days is the 2.3. Now what i want to know is is there a lot of difference between the two? and is it possible to upgrade that phone for free just incase i get it? Any sort of feed back would be great. Thank You!!!!!!!

There is a pretty big difference between Froyo and Gingerbread. The interface is a little better and the processes in the background are more efficient in Gingerbread, making the phone faster. It also gives you some extra capability. For example, video chat (ie. skype or oovoo) is not compatible with Froyo. The update is always free and there is really no reason not to update.
