question about converting to judaism?

can a married women convert to judaism.

her husband does not want to convert himself,but she wants to.

he has no problem with her converting if that is what she wants to do,but will she be accepted as a convert or told no because her husband doesnt want to convert himself.
 
No, she could not convert to Orthodox Judaism.

Yes, she could convert to the more liberal branches of Judaism such as Reform, Conservative, or Reconstructionist. If she does this though she should be aware that she will not be considered to have had a legitimate conversion, by the Orthodox, and will still be considered as a non-Jew by them.
 
Good question.
Nowadays, the only conversion to Judaism which is done according to Jewish law is the Orthodox one. According to Orthodox (or traditional) Judaism, the center of Jewish life is not the synagogue, it is the home, the family. Thus, a woman cannot convert to Judaism if her husband is not on board with it, since a Jewish home takes both partners...

Conservative and Reform congregations do not follow Jewish law, and they basically make up their own rules. Thus, they would accept anyone under any conditions.
 
Yes she can convert, even if fuddy duddy won't. I assume you are not interested in Orthodox Judaism......they are far more strict.
 
I have never heard of a restriction on that but I can't say for certain.
 
If she converts Orthodox, then no. They BOTH have to convert. If it is reform it will probably be more lenient.
Also if she had children before conversion and want to consider them Jewish, they would have to convert too.
